Loud MOUTH Ink
More Outrageous Underground Truth from the Hood
MOUTH Ink...
is the YJC committee working to build a collective of young artists – uniting graf writers, taggers, muralists, comix creators, poets, photographers, muralists, tattoo artists and hip hop headz. Begun in the South Bronx in 2001, MOUTH now includes artists from both NYC and L.A. As artist activists, we work to support the movement to bring down the Prison Industrial Complex and to build international human rights in its place.
Tag Up Here workshops support young people in the creation of graf murals, comics, posters, photography, radio and print journalism, spoken word and popular education to challenge injustice, inspire action, and promote voices that are often silent or invisible in our communities.
We strive to integrate graf and other youth expression into community mobilization, organizing, and action. Workshops, publications, and public performances are regularly educating communities on juvenile and criminal injustice issues.
